BRANSON, Mo. -- The art world is mourning the loss of Thomas Kinkade who died suddenly at the age of 54 Friday.
The artist died at his home in the San Francisco Bay area of apparent natural causes.
Kinkade was a devout christian, and said he liked to make people happy. At the Thomas Kinkade Signature Gallery in Branson, the local response has been overwhelming. The gallery said Saturday it has no plans on closing.
Kinkade claimed his paintings and related products were in 10-million U.S. homes.
