OMAHA, Ark.-- A Branson Scenic Railway train struck a pickup on the track near Omaha Thursday.

It happened at about 3:15 p.m., at the end of the Cricket Railroad Tunnel in the Omaha area.  17 year old Tyler Costello of Omaha was driving a 2001 Ford pickup, traveling east beside the railroad tracks.

Boone County Sheriff Danny Hickman, says Costello attempted to turn around across the railroad track because of the approaching train.  Costello could not get his vehicle moved from the tracks, and the Branson Scenic Railway train engine struck the rear passenger side of the Ford.

There were no injuries and no citations were issued at the scene.  Costello could be facing charges at a later date, due to the fact that the railroad is private property.
