Near Record Highs

A big ridge of high pressure is going to camp out over the Ozarks for the next couple of days.  Temperatures are going to soar to the upper 70s and low 80s.  This will bring us to near record territory Tuesday.  Here are a few of the current records on hand for Tuesday.  Springfield 82, 1967, Joplin 80, 2002 Rolla 75 1995, West Plains 89 1967.

Pop Up Storms?

South winds this week are not only going to bring in very warm air but also higher humidity.  It will feel very much like May across the Ozarks.  A few pop up storms are possible this week with any minor disturbance that happens along.  There are no major forcing mechanisms like front which I why I think any storms will be scattered.  One thing to keep in mind is that if storms can form then moderate to large hail is possible.  This chance for pop up storms will last for much of the seven day forecast because frankly there is not much change to the atmosphere.
