ROLLA, Mo. – A man from Mountain Home, Ark., is accused of supplying a woman with a prescription drug that led to her death after she collapsed in a motel room in Rolla last Christmas Eve. Levi Lambert, 31, is charged with second-degree murder and distribution of a controlled substance.
Edited news release:
On Dec. 24, at approximately 12:10 a.m., officers from the Rolla Police Department responded to the Rustic Inn Motel, Room #236, in the 800 block of U.S. 63 South, after a 911 call for help. Officers discovered an unresponsive woman in the motel room along with two men.
Lifesaving efforts were initiated by the responding officers before the woman was transported first to the hospital in Rolla and then to a hospital in Columbia, where she died. The victim was Jennifer Reeves, 35, of Rolla.
An autopsy determined Reeves died as a result of the consumption of a combination of alcohol and Oxycontin. Rolla detectives found Lambert supplied Reeves with the syringe and the oxycontin that ultimately caused her death.
