SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield police arrested a man this week for a crash that killed two people on Feb. 19. A pickup blew through a stop sign at the intersection of Scenic Avenue at Elm Street and hit an SUV. The driver of the SUV, Kathy Newman, 60, was killed along with Joshua Sportsman, 24, who was thrown from the truck.
On Thursday, police arrested Sean Masten, 23, on probable cause for leaving the scene of an accident and parole violation. Police haven't said if they think Masten was the driver of the pickup.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
