Arkansas Razorbacks: Alabama run sinks Hogs at home

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The magic is gone from Bud Walton Arena.

The Alabama Crimson Tide (18-9, 7-6) used a 19-2 run at the end of the first-half and the beginning of the second-half to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks (17-11, 5-8) 79-68 at Bud Walton Arena Thursday.  The loss is Arkansas' second-straight at home.

Arkansas jumped out to an early lead after a hot shooting start.  The Razorbacks opened the game five-of-five from three-point range.  It built a double-digit lead by as many as 12 points.

The hot shooting did not last long.  Arkansas went scoreless from the field for nearly ten minutes.  The Tide took advantage, building a double-digit lead through much of the game.  Arkansas got as close as five points in the closing minutes.

BJ Young led the Hogs with 21 points.  Rodney Cooper scored 17 points to lead the Tide.  Alabama was playing without leading scorers JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell for the fourth-straight game.

Arkansas returns to Southeastern Conference action Saturday afternoon at Auburn.
