Warmer Weather Returns

High pressure is building into the area tonight. Low level moisture is still rather thick and it appears the cloud cover may hang around a bit longer than planned. This will help keep temperatures from getting too cold tonight. Lows Thursday should be limited to the upper 20s. Southwest winds on Thursday afternoon will usher in much warmer air. Highs are projected to reach the mid 40s.

Cold Weather Returns

Friday should start off rather mild with lows only in the mid 30s. A Arctic cold front will be poised to cross the Ozarks later in the day. Winds will become northerly and usher in very cold air for the weekend. The sun should shine brightly over the weekend but will do little warm things up. Highs are only forecast to reach the low to mid 30s.

The Next Storm

I told you yesterday about an approaching storm for Monday. It still appears the storm is on track to reach the Ozarks early next week. unfortunately tehre is still a wide variety of solutions about the storm is projected to do once it gets here. I think since the weekend air mass will be very cold it will be reasonable to think that any initial precipitation will fall as either sleet or snow. Eventually it looks like the warm air will change this over to a very cold rain either late Monday or early Tuesday with additional rain possible Wednesday. There are hints that when the storm does finally move on additional snow will be possible on the back side. It is far too early to try and get cute with details but I encourage everyone to stay up on the forecast over the weekend.
