SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Officials of the City of Springfield and The Kitchen, Inc., said Monday afternoon that some residents of the Missouri Hotel will be able to return on Tuesday.   A fire on Jan. 20 caused so much smoke, water and heat damage that 185 formerly homeless residents were not able to stay there until repairs and clean-ups were completed.

The residents have been staying at Cox North Hospital and a church.  The third and fourth floors will open first, followed by the second and first floors.  All residents may not be back in the building for two or three more weeks.  About 100 people may move back on Tuesday.
