TWENTY DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE
Good evening. It was a very warm and pleasant day in the Ozarks as highs reached the mid 60s, twenty degrees above average! So far, 50% of our winter (all of December and January so far) has had high temperatures in the 50s and 60s. The next four days will also fit into that category before a bit of a weekend cool down.
CHANCE OF RAIN, STAYING WARM
An upper level disturbance is going to move our direction tomorrow. Skies will become mostly by tomorrow in response to an increase of low level moisture increases ahead of that system. Light rain is possible late in the day. Despite the extra cloud cover, it will still be windy and warm with highs in the low 60's for most.
A few rain showers could linger early on Wednesday, especially in northern Arkansas. High temperatures will be in the upper 50s on both Wednesday and Thursday before a western U.S. storm system takes control of our conditions.
LATE WEEK COOL DOWN
Friday is expected to be a bit cooler but not by too much. Rain is likely on Friday when an upper level low moves into Kansas. Long range computer models have been having trouble staying consistent with the later periods of the forecast. As of right now it appears as though some rain could linger into the start of the weekend. The chance for snow right now is low as temperatures stay above freezing.
