SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - CBSSports.com's Dennis Dodd is reporting Arkansas Head Coach Bobby Petirno has cancelled a visit to Dorial Green-Beckham Thursday in Springfield because of what the Beckham family calls a "situation."

Dodd reports Petrino inadvertently bumped into the Hillcrest High School senior receiver in San Antonio earlier this month.  Green-Beckham was in San Antonio participating in the U.S. Army High School All-America game.  Petrino was there for a coaching convention the next week.

The University of Arkansas released this statement to media outlets Wednesday night:

"No violation occurred and we are taking proactive steps we feel necessary to avoid any risk of one."

The NCAA restricts coaches to only see a recruit once per week during a recruiting contact period.  However, Dodd reports there were both NCAA "dead" and "quiet" periods during that week.

Dorial Green-Beckham is scheduled to announce his college choice during ESPN-U's signing day broadcast, live from Hillcrest High School February 1.
