Arkansas Razorbacks: young Hogs lose SEC road opener at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. - The "Fastest 40 Minutes" slowed significantly away from Bud Walton Arena Wednesday night.

Forwards Murphy Holloway and Reginald Buckner combined for 27 points and 25 rebounds to lead the Ole Miss Rebels (11-5, 1-1) to a 71-63 victory over the the Arkansas Razorbacks (12-4, 1-1).  The loss ends the Hogs eight-game winning streak.

Ole Miss took control of the game at the end of the first-half.  The Rebels ended the half on a 8-2 run to go up 37-29 at halftime.  The Rebels extended the lead to as many as 13 points in the second-half.  The Hogs cut the lead to seven late, before Ole Miss closed out the victory.

The Rebels out-rebounded the Razorbacks 48-26, including 18 on the offensive end.  They also made ten more free throws then the Hogs.

Senior Marvell Waith led Arkansas with a career-high 15 points. Freshman BJ Young added 14.

Arkansas returns home to Bud Walton Arena Saturday night to play the LSU Tigers.  Tip-off is at 8:00 p.m.
