Crime Stoppers unsolved crime of the week: purse theft in Walmart parking lot

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Crime Stoppers and the Springfield Police Department ask for help identifying a man who robbed a woman outside a Walmart store.   The crime happened on Wed., Nov. 23, at 7 p.m., on the parking lot of the Walmart at 3315 S. Campbell Ave. 

The robber approached a shopper, stole her purse from her shopping cart, then ran off to a car driven by a second man. 

The victim tried to chase down the robber and suffered minor injuries running alongside his vehicle.   By the following morning, the man had used the victim’s stolen credit card at a Kum & Go at 3030 S. Jefferson Ave.

The robber is white, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches and 150 pounds.  He was wearing a dark blue jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt and left in a white, 4-door Pontiac Grand Am or similar car with no license plates.
