SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Dorial Green-Beckham showed the country why he is considered the top high school football player in the Class of 2012.

The Springfield Hillcrest High School senior caught two passes, including a record-breaking 79-yard touchdown pass to lead his West squad to a 24-12 victory in the U.S. Army High School All-American Bowl Saturday in San Antonio.  Most recruiting analysts rate Green-Beckham as the country's top senior prospect.

"Just coming out here and competing against the best has been real fun." said Green-Beckham.  "The whole week has been oustanding,. both sides of the ball, both teams came out for the win."

Green-Beckham hooked up with fellow co-mvp, quarterback Cyler Miles for the first-half score.  The 79-yard touchdown broke the record for longest touchdown pass by a yard, set by former Florida Gators teammates Chris Leak and Andre Caldwell in the 2003 game.  Beckham also caught a 9-yard pass.

"I got to do it for my hometown, my family, my friends, my fans, just be the best I can be," said Green-Beckham.

Many of the players announced commitments to their college of choice.  The 6'6, 220 pound receiver Green-Beckham did not.  His father, and high school football coach John Beckham told KY3 News in San Antonio his son has scheduled a visit to the University of Arkansas later this month.  Beckham says upcoming semester finals and the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions basketball tournament in Springfield has limited the scheduled visits to only Arkansas at this time.

Green-Beckham has shown interest in several schools, including Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Alabama and Texas.  Signing day is February first.

The high school all-America receiver summed up his week in San Antionio and the national television exposure after the game.

"It was exciting, never did I know I'd come this far," said Green-Beckham.  "It's everybody's dream, everybody got to have a dream and come out here and do the best they can."
