January 06, 2012|edited news release

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield fire marshals are requesting help identifying a man who set a fire at the Walmart store on West Sunshine Street at West Bypass.  The fire was about 11:30 a.m. on New Year's Eve (Dec. 31).

Fire Marshal Phil Noah says the man walked around the store for awhile, then went to the lawn and garden section and set a bag of charcoal on fire.  He then walked out and drove away.  A store employee burned his hands trying to put out the fire and was treated at a hospital.

The man in the photo left the store driving a late 1990s or early 2000s Ford F150 step side pickup.

If you know who this man may be, you can contact Crime Stoppers at (417) 869-TIPS (8477).
