Photos, rewards may help detectives find bank robber in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Great Southern Bank is offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads to arrest of the man who robbed one of its branches on Monday.  The bank also on Thurday released a photo of the man and his getaway vehicle.

The robber walked into the Great Southern Bank at 2945 W. Republic Road about 12:30 p.m.  He gave a teller a note that said he had a gun but never showed a gun.  After getting some cash, he fled on foot.

Police said Monday that the robber is white, has brown hair, is about 40 years old, and wore a navy blue cap and possible a navy blue coat. 

The FBI and Springfield police are investigating the robbery.  Anyone with information about the robber can call the FBI at (417) 882-3303 or the Springfield Missouri Police Department at (417) 864-1810. They may remain anonymous.
