Man faces more charges for 2-day, 3-county robbery spree

December 08, 2011|by KY3 News

OZARK, Mo. -- A man from Galena is charged with robbing a woman in the Walmart store parking lot in Nixa on Monday afternoon.  Nixa police detectives think Steven Youngblood got away with some cash from the woman after first trying to get her car keys, and then trying to get behind the steering wheel with her still in the front seat.

Youngblood was charged on Wednesday for an armed robbery at a convenience store in Branson on Sunday.   Police think he then tried to rob an 18-year-old man in the Battlefield Mall parking lot in Springfield on Monday afternoon before attacking the woman in Nixa on Monday evening.

The Christian County prosecuting attorney charged Youngblood on Thursday with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.  If he's convicted, he could get a prison sentence up to 30 years for robbery.

Youngblood is not yet charged in Greene County.  Stone County sheriff's deputies arrested him on Wednesday on the charges from Taney County.
