SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man from the Rogersville area is accused of dragging a woman from a home south of Strafford and driving her away against her will on Sunday. Shannon Meahan, 43, is charged with kidnapping, second-degree domestic assault, and misdemeanor third-degree assault.
Someone called Greene County sheriff's deputies about an assault and kidnapping at 1775 N. Missouri 125. When deputies arrived, Meahan and the woman were gone but they were able to find them. The woman was treated at a hospital for what the sheriff's department calls non-life threatening injuries.
A judge set Meahan's bond at $25,000. He was in the Greene County jail on Monday afternoon. If he's convicted, Meahan could face a prison sentence of five to 15 years for kidnapping, up to seven years for domestic assault, and up to one year for the misdemeanor.
