SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Dorial Green-Beckham's record-breaking senior season earned him some hardware. Gatorade named Green-Beckham as Missouri's High School Player of the Year for 2011.
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound receiver for Hillcrest High School caught 119 passes for a state-record 2,233 yards and 24 touchdowns. He ended his career with a national high school record of 6,356 receiving yards.
The award goes beyond the playing field. Green-Beckham has kept a B average in his academic studies. He volunteers as a mentor at elementary schools.
He remains undecided on a university choice. Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas all have made strong pushes for the top receiver in the Class of 2011.
