COLUMBIA, Mo. - Former University of Missouri standout running back Derrick Washington will spend time behind bars.
A Boone County judge sentenced Washington to five years in prison for an off-campus sexual assault of a former Mizzou athletics tutor. He could be released after 120 days in a "shock incarceration" program. Washington will go back before a judge in December on trial for two misdemeanor domestic assault charges involving an ex-girlfriend.
The former Raymore-Peculiar High School star led Missouri in rushing in the 2008 and the 2009 seasons.
