UNION, Mo. -- Not just Dorial Green-Beckham but also the Hillcrest Hornets made history on Monday night.
The senior receiver caught eight passes for 127 yards and a touchdown in No. 7 Hillcrest's 28-21 victory over the No. 2 Union Wildcats in the Class 4 sectional playoff game. Green-Beckham's lone touchdown came in the third quarter, a 48-yard pass from quarterback Matt Futrell. Each yard he gains adds to his national high school record for career yards.
As Green-Beckham continues to set records individually, his Hornets teammates have accomplished a first in school history. The victory is the school's first in sectional play.
"It means a lot, the biggest in history for us at Hillcrest," said Green-Beckham. "It's big for our town, we're going to go as far as we can."
Green-Beckham has caught 112 passes for 2,176 yards and 24 touchdowns for the 11-1 Hornets this season. Hillcrest will face No. 1 Webb City in the quarterfinals.
