NIXA, Mo. -- At approximately 3:45 p.m. Monday, a bus window was shot by a pellet gun on Highway AA in northern Christian County, on a 5th-12th grade bus route. The pellet cracked the window and a small amount of glass fell on a student.
The Nixa School District says no one was injured and the students were transferred to another bus and transported home safely. There were 10 students and one bus driver on board. All parents of those on the bus have been contacted.
The district says the incident was an accident and was the result of a youth participating in target practice and missing the target. Investigators don't believe there was malicious intent.
