COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Missouri Tigers may have saved the season deep in the heart of Texas.

Mizzou (4-4, 1-3) scored 14 unanswered points late in the second-half to beat the Texas A&M Aggies (5-3, 3-2) 38-31 in overtime Saturday in College Station.

"To say that I'm proud of our team is an understatement," said Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel.  "To see their eyes shining again and big smile on their face was a good thing."

Sophomore quarterback James Franklin rebounded from last week's tough loss against Oklahoma State. Franklin threw for 198 yards and rushed for another 97 yards  The Texas native accounted for three touchdowns.

"We did a great job this week by not getting down when things didn't go our way," said Franklin.  "This was a team comeback, and a team victory."

Missouri trailed 28-17 with 10:58 when Mizzou's Randy Ponder intercepted a Ryan Tannehill pass, returning it 46-yards.  Franklin's 11-yard touchdown run got the Tigers within a score.  The defense then held the Aggies.  Franklin then led the Tigers on a 66-yard drive that ended in a Henry Josey touchdown run.

Texas A&M rallied to tie the game with a 35-yard Randy Bullock field goal.  Missouri kicker Trey Barrow had a chance to win the game in the remaining seconds, but missed from 46-yards.

Missouri's Franklin shined in the overtime too.  He connected with sophomore receiver Marcus Lucas in the back of the end z.  That put the pressure on the Aggies.  Jacquies Smith's deflection of a fourth-down pass from Tannehill ended the game.

"I told my team, when you play great football teams, they are going to make great plays, and you have to make great plays," said Pinkel.

Missouri will return next weekend to the Lone Star state to play the Baylor Bears.  Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m. on Fox Sports Network.
