HARRISON, Ark. -- The Boone County prosecutor says a man faces charges of killing his adopted son

According to police reports, there was a heated argument between Bob Eubanks, 73, and John Eubanks, 26, behind a motel in Harrison on Sunday night.  A witness heard the confrontation and told investigators that it led up to shots being fired.  John Eubanks was dead when police arrived.

From Harrison Daily Times, via The Associated Press:

A judge set a $500,000 bond for Bob Eubanks, who is charged with first-degree murder.  At a hearing on Tuesday, Eubanks' lawyer, Steve Davis, argued for a lower bond.  Davis says Eubanks owns three local businesses and will appear at trial to fight the charge.

Circuit Judge Gordon Webb says he'll consider lowering the bond after Eubanks is arraigned.

John Eubanks was killed at a motel at 9 p.m. Sunday.  Harrison police say they received a call at 6 p.m. Sunday that John Eubanks was driving while apparently intoxicated and had threatened people.   Police couldn't find the vehicle.
