Fall is known to bring out beautiful, seasonal colors, but this month around the Ozarks be prepared to see pink.

October is breast cancer awareness month and that means you'll see a lot of pink. Even firefighters will be pretty in pink all month long.

Firemen will not just be fighting fires this month, they are also fighting cancer.
Both Nixa and Branson firefighters along with dozens of other fire stations across the Ozarks will be raising money for cancer research.

The firemen will be dressed in pink all month long to raise awareness.
Many of these men know someone who has had or is fighting breast cancer.
This is the first year for both Nixa and Branson to try and raise money for something that effects one out of every four women.

"We all know somebody that has it or has been effected by it.  We thought we could give back and spread the awareness a little bit by wearing the pink shirts," said Brian Fick with the Nixa Fire Protection District.

"Some people are taken back by wearing pink but it's for a good cause and everybody will bite the bullet eventually," said Chris Ely, with the Branson Fire Department.
