LEBANON, Mo. -- A judge says Steven Pyykola will stand trial in Versailles before a Morgan County jury in September of next year. Pyykola's trial was moved from Laclede County to try to ensure a fair outcome.
Pyykola and three others were each charged with three counts of first-degree murder after investigators say they killed a woman's parents and then her live-in boyfriend. In October 2009, detectives say, the four men shot and killed Zachary (Zack) Porter in Lebanon and Jeffrey and Glenda Smith at their rural home near Phillipsburg.
In May 2010, Josh Reyes received life prison sentence with no chance of parole after pleading guilty to those charges.
The other two charged for the murders, Benjamin Stidham and Jacky Wong, also have jury trials scheduled. Stidham's trial is set for December in Camden County, also on a change of venue, while Wong's trial is set for April 2012 in Lebanon.
