SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Trevor Wooden (So., High Springs, Fla.) is coming off a sensational debut as MSU starting quarterback. In his first career start, Wooden threw for 262 yards, compiled a game-high 333 yards of total offense, completed 69% of his passes, and accounted for threee touchdowns -- two passing and one rushing. His 262-yard performance was a school record for most passing yards ever by a Missouri State QB in his premier start. Wooden manufactured second-half scoring drives of 60, 63, 71 and 60 yards for the Bears while helping his team convert 7-of-10 third down opportunities in the fi nal two periods. His aerial yardage was also the most by a Bears' passer on the road since Cody Kirby threw for 281 yards at Kansas State on Sept. 11, 2010. He was 22-for-32 with no interceptions in the EKU game. Wooden started 10 games as a redshirt freshman WR last year and sat out the season opener at Arkansas while serving a one-game suspension.
- Today's game is being designated as a Black Out at Autzen Stadium, which is expected to be sold out for the 76th consecutive time. Oregon's streak of 75 straight home sellouts, dates to Sept. 18, 1999.
- Coach Chip Kelly's program was undefeated at Autzen Stadium in 2009 and 2010 and now owns a 17-game home winning streak. The last home loss for the Ducks was a 37-32 setback against Boise State on Sept. 20, 2008.
- Senior wide receiver Jermaine Saffold (Grandview, Mo.) became the fi rst Bear of the Terry Allen era (2006-present) and fi rst since Payne Hall vs. Southeast Missouri State (9/17/05) to log two touchdown receptions in the same game when he snagged scoring grabs of 71 and 9 yards at Eastern Kentucky. The 71-yarder was the team's longest pass play since 2008, and Saffold's 126 yards on six receptions marked the third-highest yardage total of Saffold's career. The preseason All-MVFC performer is averaging 22.7 yards per reception. Saffold, who logged 869 receiving yards a year ago, is also 523 yards shy of the program's career yardage mark of 1,990 set by Steve Newbold (1977-80).
- MSU will earn a $440,000 guarantee from today's game. The team's budget was further suplemented with a $395,000 gurantee at Arkansas on Sept. 3. The Bears will also play two FBS opponents in 2012 with scheduled contests at Kansas State (Sept. 1) and Louisville (Sept. 8).
- Missouri State is the only program in the country, at any level, to play two AP Top 15 teams (FBS) during the non-conference portion of its schedule. The Bears dropped the season opener at (then) No. 15 Arkansas, 51-7, on Sept. 3, and now take on the No. 12 Ducks (1-1). At No. 12 in the AP poll this week, Oregon is the highest-ranked opponent ever for MSU.
- There are no Missouri players on the Oregon roster, and no native Oregonians on the MSU roster.
- The Bears are trying to prevent their fi rst 0-3 start since 1994 and snap a nine-game road losing streak that dates back to a 21-17 win in the FargoDome at North Dakota State on Oct. 24, 2009.
- The Bears' 411 yards of total offense at Eastern Kentucky last week marked the most by MSU since compiling 508 yards in a home win over Southern Illinois on Oct. 30, 2010 at Plaster Field. Terry Allen's 2010 club accumulated 400 or more yards in seven of its fi rst eight games last season, but had gone four straight games with sub-400-yard performances since.
- In just his second college game, Andrew Beisel (RFr., ILB, Fenton, Mo.) came off the bench to tally a team-high 11 tackles last week at Eastern Kentucky, including 7 assists and 4 solo stops. Beisel now leads the Bears with 18 total tackles through two games, in addition to one forced fumble.
