OZARK, Mo -- Thousands of people across the state of Missouri are rolled up their sleeves today. It was all part of Serve 2011 -- a statewide service initiative sponsored by the United Methodist Church.

Volunteers in Ozark helped spruce up Finley River Park and the Christian County Library. Around 100 people built benches, repaired tables, and did a little clean up as well.

"We saw both the park and the library as locations that were suffering from limited resources right now and places we could do a lot of work with a lot of labor and not a lot of money to be honest," said Ozark United Methodist Church Missions Coach Naedrie Bonucchi.

There were more than 30 community service projects held in the Ozarks and around 250 projects statewide.
