TEMPE, Ariz. - Mizzou's 22-straight non-conference winning streak dried out in the desert.
Arizona State (2-0) quarterback Brock Osweiler threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Sun Devils to a 37-30 overtime victory against the No. 21 Missouri Tigers (1-1) Friday night. It is Arizona State's first win against a ranked team since the 2007 season.
Missouri fell quickly behind by two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter. Sophomore quarterback James Franklin brought Mizzou back with two quick drives that finished with touchdown passes to L'Damion Washington and Michael Egnew. After Arizona State punted, Franklin led the Tigers down the field to set up a 48-yard field goal from senior Grant Ressel with 17 seconds remaining. He missed it wide left.
Arizona State capitalized on the gift, scoring on the first possession of overtime with a Jamal Miles touchdown run. The Tigers failed to get a first down in its possession as Franklin was harassed by Arizona State on the final fourth and five play.
