SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Missouri State University women's basketball coach Nyla Milleson said Tuesday that she indefinitely suspended senior Jasmine Malone. Malone was charged on Aug. 1 with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated for a crash on the parking lot of the Greene County Judicial Center on June 17.
Milleson said the suspension is pending "the findings of an internal investigation for the possible violation of team rules and the MSU Student-Athlete Code of Conduct."
Malone is a two-year co-captain for the Lady Bears. She was the team's third leading scorer last season, averaging 9.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game as MSU ended up 24-11 with a second straight appearance in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
