FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Hogs improved on last season's preseason ranking. What about this season?
The Arkansas Razorbacks are ranked no. 15 in the preseason Associated Press top 25 poll. That is down three spots from last season's final poll.
The ranking is likely lower than expected for Hogs fans, following the loss of all-Southeastern Conference running back Knile Davis for the entire season. Davis injured his ankle last week during a practice.
Half of Arkansas' schedule features teams ranked in the top 25 poll. SEC-West preseason favorite Alabama is ranked no. 2. LSU is ranked no. 3. South Carolina, Mississippi State and Auburn are also ranked. Arkansas will also play Texas A&M in Dallas. The Big 12 Conference school is ranked no. 8. The SEC had a total of eight schools ranked.
