12-hour forecast
Good morning! A fairly hefty line of storms plowed into the region early this morning. Some minor wind damage was reported here and there when the line was at its strongest point over the northern Ozarks. This will exit fairly quickly today with rapid warming on the back side. Highs will likely hit 100 over the southwest counties of Missouri and northwest Arkansas, with low 90s over eastern counties. Humidity will be significant so the heat index will be over 100 nearly everywhere. A few storms are possible over the weekend and early next week, dependent on the timing of individual waves in the upper atmosphere. Highs will be in the 90s for much of the extended forecast.
