NEW YORK CITY - Brandon Nimmo never played an inning of high school baseball. He will skip college too.
The Arkansas Razorbacks commitment and first-round selection of the New York Mets has reportedly signed a multi-million dollar deal. He inked the contract minutes before the Major League Draft deadline Tuesday.
Nimmo is the state of Wyoming's highest draft pick in the state's history going 13th overall. Wyoming has no high school affiliated teams. North Dakota is the only other state that does not play organized high school baseball. Nimmo shined for scouts and Arkansas Razorbacks Head Coach Dave Van Horn while playing for a national profile legion Summer team.
The Cheyenne, Wyoming native reportedly signed for a $2.2 million signing bonus.
