SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Highland Springs Country Club will host the Price Cutter Charity Championship professional golf tournament for its 22nd straight year. Highland Springs joins the Hillcrest Country Club (Albertson’s Boise Open) as the only other course to host a tournament in each year of the Nationwide Tour’s existence.
The Price Cutter Charity Championship is one of the most successful tournaments on the Nationwide Tour in terms of giving back to the community. The 19-year total of charitable funds raised during the Nationwide Tour event now exceeds $7 million.
The Nationwide Tour is just a step below the PGA Tour that gets television exposure with the best golfers and most familiar names. Former Nationwide Tour players, including some of the winners of the tournaments in Springfield, have won about 250 PGA Tour tournaments.
