Marie Saavedra makes final appearance on KY3 News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Reporter and anchor Marie Saavedra said farewell to viewers in the Ozarks on KY3 News at 5 on Tuesday. 

Saavedra was injured in a car accident just north of Lowry City on Aug. 1.  She skidded off the road and into a ditch as she tried to avoid running into the back of a car that slowed to make a right turn in front of her on southbound Missouri 13.   She broke two vertebrae and is wearing a brace on her upper body, which is why she couldn't work since the accident.

A few days before the accident, Saavedra accepted a job with a TV station in Phoenix, Arizona.  She plans to start working there as a reporter and anchor later this month.
