GREENE COUNTY, Mo-- It has been weeks of sleepless nights for loved ones close to the Porters. The tragic news does little to ease the heart ache felt by family and friends of the couple.
John English is the pastor of Galloway Full Gospel. The family has gone to this church for years.
English has helped the family throughout this entire process by hanging up flyers and conducting church vigils.
English is very close to the family.
He spoke with some of them before the news conference.
He says while they are heartbroken, they at least have some answers now.
"I think there is also some relief that they don't have to wonder anymore. Although this is not the outcome we had hoped for, it's still something we now have to deal with. If there has ever been a time to pray for the family and support the family, it's now," said English.
English went on to say the family wants to thank the thousands of people that gave their time and money trying to find the missing couple.
