HEAT WARNINGS AND WATCHES
An Excessive Heat Warning continues in the northern and western Ozarks through Friday. Camden and Miller counties were added to the warning this morning. The rest of the Missouri Ozarks are now in an Excessive Heat Watch starting tomorrow morning and lasting through Friday. Many of those counties could eventually be upgraded to an advisory or warning as temperatures heat up a bit by mid and late week.
Highs today will reach the mid 90s for most of us with upper 90s expected west. The heat index will be around 105 degrees within the warned areas and near 100 degrees for the rest of us. High temperatures will be in the upper 90s tomorrow and Wednesday. Then we should reach 100 degrees on Thursday.
WATCHING FOR A CHANGE IN THE PATTERN
The high heat will continue through next weekend before there is a hint of some possible changes to the upper level pattern. High pressure has been sitting over the center of the country keeping conditions hot and humid but by late in the weekend an upper level trough of lower pressure could push the high westward and bring in a cooler and more favorable pattern for rainfall to the region.
