SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Crime Stoppers and the Springfield Police Department ask for help finding the people who vandalized a church last month.  The crime was reported on June 20 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1500 S Campbell Ave.  Church staff discovered a large amount of graffiti on two Dumpsters, a fence and a church van.

Investigators believe this graffiti is similar to other recent vandalisms in the 1000 block of East Lynn Street and the 600 block of South Nettleton Avenue.  The vandalism is consistent with the urban graffiti culture and it does not appear the church was specifically targeted as part of a hate crime.

The actual dollar amounts have not been determined at this time.  If the vandalisms result in the filing of felony charges, tipsters could be eligible for a Crime Stoppers reward.  Asbury Church may also approve additional reward money for information that leads to charges.

If you were in the area of this crime and saw any suspicious people or vehicles at these times, or if you know the vandals, you can call Crime Stoppers at (417) 869-TIPS (8477) or go online at www.tipsubmit.com.  Tipsters do not have to give their names and could earn a reward.

Crime Stoppers takes information about drug dealers, wanted felons, and all other felonies.  It pays rewards of up to $1,000 in cash for the information that leads to the arrest and the filing of charges against people involved in felonies.
