SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next month for a Springfield man accused of badly beating his girlfriend's 2-year-old son.
John Albert is charged with assault and child abuse for the alleged attack in late June. A friend of the family tells Ky3 news, doctors at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City are trying to stabilize the toddler after removing most of his colon.
