Creekmore Won't Return To Bears

Missouri State request denied

July 08, 2011|Ned Reynolds

The Missouri State University basketball Bears were informed today by the NCAA that the school's request for an extra year of eligibility for Will Creekmore has been denied.

Creekmore had played four games at Boston University in his freshman year before leaving that school after his first semester and transfering to Missouri State. Following the NCAA transfer rules in which a player must "sit out" for a year, Creekmore joined the Bears in late December of 2008 and played in 94 games during his two and a half seasons.

In his college career, including Boston University, the 6 foot 10 center/forward tallied 892 points and 535 rebounds. He was named All Missouri Valley Conference second team this past season and was an Academic All America selection as well.

Although Missouri State has 30 days in which to appeal the decision, Creekmore has indicated that it's unlikely he'll do so.
