Thunderstorms Possible Tonight

A cold front is now moving into the Ozarks from Kansas.  Ample heat and humidity are in place for thunderstorms to form later this evening.  The one thing holding us back is some cooler weather from this morning storms.  If the storms can get going moderate hail and high winds are possible in the stronger storms.

Tremendous Tuesday

The cold front will eventually settle into central Arkansas.  Winds will turn to the north and usher in cooler temperatures and lower humidity.  Highs will top out in the mid 80's.

Hot as a Firecracker

Long range models are still advertising a huge ridge to develop over the central U.S.  Temperatures are really going to take off for two reasons.  The first is the ridge should provide us with plenty of sunshine and suppress rain chances.  The second is we are so dry in southwest Missouri and the grass is browning up in many locations.  The air is heated by the ground and with the ground being brown temperatures will actually get warmer than normal.  Highs are likely to get into the upper 90s for a couple of days with heat indexes in excess of 105 degrees.
