Salvation Army asks for new or gently used purses for tornado survivors

The Salvation Army is also asking for volunteers to assist in feeding programs.

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Salvation Army is looking for new or gently used purses for Joplin tornado survivors.  The Army asks donors to fill those purses with feminine hygiene products from now until June 30.      

The Salvation Army is also asking for volunteers to assist in feeding programs. The organization in Joplin operates four mobile canteens and two fixed feeding stations serving more than 1,000 people each day.
