BRANSON, Mo. -- Nearly $328,000 from the city of Branson is on the way to Branson airport's bank account. Tuesday night, aldermen agreed to the payment as part of a performance contract.
That contract has been a point of controversy in recent months. The city pays the airport just over eight dollars for each arriving passenger to cover airport marketing. But Branson leaders say there isn't enough funding to keep up with the payments.
Thirty-Five thousand dollars was appropriated in this year's budget to pay the contract...the additional money will come out of reserves.
