QUIET, BUT HUMID DAY IN THE OZARKS

Highs in the 80s helped the Ozarks feel the Summer swelter today.  And the humidity added a little extra something to that Spring air. It's the moisture that makes for the greatest weather threat tonight.  As I write, strong to severe storms (even tornadoes) are found in Kansas... but are no where near the Ozarks.  These storms are feeding upon moist and unstable air... the same that is found over our backyards.  The difference is: we lack a trigger to get the upward motion going for storms.  I'm curious if small outflows, mini-cold fronts more or less, could start storms in the region Sunday afternoon.
For now... it's quiet.
PERIODS OF HEAVY POSSIBLE INTO THE WEEKThe atmosphere is loaded with moisture... and as the parent storm over the Plains moves closer to our homes, we'll be in a better position to receive a heapin' handful of rain.  Several inches, in fact.  At this point, Tuesday and Wednesday seem like the best chance for periods of heavy, potentially-flooding rain.  Stay tuned.
Enjoy your weekend,
