FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Add another Razorback to this Summer's USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team.
Arkansas freshman first baseman Dominic Ficociello has been named to the 22-man roster, joining Razorbacks sophomore pitcher DJ Baxendale.
"It's an honor and privilege to wear USA on your chest and represent your country on the baseball field," said Ficociello. "I'm excited to get to represent the University of Arkansas on the team with DJ and (Head) Coach Dave Van Horn."
The Fullerton, California native leads Arkansas in batting average at .363 and 47 RBI. Ficociello has a 12-game hitting streak entering Thursday's game at home against Ole Miss.
"It's a great honor for Dominic to be selected to the team as a freshman," said Van Horn. "Dominic has been very consistent at the plate this season. He's also done a great job defensively at both first and third base and being able to play multiple positions was one of the things the national team was looking for."
