Man, woman hold up worker at Subway restaurant in Springfield

May 11, 2011|by KY3 News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Police are looking for a couple who robbed a Subway restaurant at the corner of Kansas Expressway at Republic Road.  Officers say the pair went up to an employee who was locking up for the night on Tuesday, forced the worker back into the store and demanded the receipts for that day.  Police say the couple then made the employee turn around so they could leave without being seen.

Police say the victim helped by getting a good description of the couple.  They warn people to always be cautious, especially when out late at night.

“Just use some caution and be aware of your surroundings.  This time of year, people are out at all hours.  This could be planned, this could be random, we don’t know yet,” said Springfield Police Lt. Scott Levin.
