WILLOW SPRINGS, Mo. -- Ambulances took two men and a woman to a hospital on Wednesday morning after all three were shot in a rural area northeast of Willow Springs. Howell County Sheriff Mike Shannon said the call about the shooting came in about 5 a.m.

Regina Riley is seriously injured after being shot in the back; she was airlifted to a hospital in Springfield. Gregory Riley was treated and released at the hospital in West Plains. Starry also was treated and released at the hospital in West Plains and then turned over to the sheriff's department.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol explosives disposal unit showed up about 2 p.m. at the property, which is at 3725 County Road 3780, because law enforcement officers were told a vehicle on the property was rigged with an explosive device, although none had been found by mid-afternoon.Willow Springs Police Chief Dan Dunn said his department was called as a backup when the initial call was made to the sheriff's department. Dunn said law officers found Starry, the suspected shooter in a ditch along County Road 3780 near the property. Dunn said officers then found the Rileys on the property.
