SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The hype surrounding the recruitment of Dorial Green-Beckham just got even bigger, if that's possible.
Rivals.com released its first Top 100 ranking of the best high school football players in the Class of 2012. The star Springfield Hillcrest receiver tops the list.
Green-Beckham is coming off an expected productive junior season. He caught 78 passes for 1,706 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Hornets. He broke Missouri's all-time career records in yards with 4,154 and touchdowns with 51. Add his productive numbers to his athletic frame, Rivals writers say he is the obvious choice. Here's an excerpt.
"For those who have seen him, it should come as no surprise to see Springfield (Mo.) Hillcrest wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham at the top of the charts," writes Rivals.com. "Green-Beckham, a 6-foot-6, 220-pounder, has been compared with Calvin Johnson to Julio Jones to A.J. Green and most recently, Kyle Prater, who finished as the No. 3 player overall in the class of 2010."
