Wednesday afternoon: Table Rock Dam flow won't go up for time being

April 27, 2011|edited news release from Jerry Adams, spokesman for City of Branson, 4:30 p.m. Wednesday

BRANSON, Mo. -- Table Rock Lake has hit its crest.  The level is currently at 935.45

Table Rock is starting to see an impact from the reduced releases at Beaver Lake.  Beaver is down from 70,000 cfs to 43,000.  Releases at Beaver will be decreased even more on Wednesday evening.

The Corps of Engineers will keep Table Rock Lake flows at the current 68,000 cfs and lake level at 935.45 until Wednesday evening, when it’s expected the lake level will start dropping.

The 68,000 cfs will remain until the lake goes down to 931 level, which is expected to occur on Sunday. However, if we get a couple inches of rain this weekend, things could change.

The 10 gates at Table Rock Dam are currently open four feet.

The new bridge over Lake Taneycomo is open and will stay open to traffic while the lake recedes.

No more dirt slides have occurred along the road over the dam. The eroded area being repaired has been closed to traffic, but the southbound lane of 165 will be open at 6 a.m. Thursday. The Corps is going ahead with a permanent fix for the road now instead of a temporary fix and then coming back in the summer to permanently repair it.
