April 19, 2011|by KY3 News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Board of Public Utilities chose three finalists for general manager of City Utilities of Springfield at its meeting on Monday afternoon.  Two currently work at CU and the third is from Memphis.  The board announced their names at noon Tuesday.

The finalists are Scott Miller, associate general manager in charge of Electric Supply for CU; Herman Morris Jr., city attorney of Memphis and a former president of Memphis Light, Gas and Water; and Wade Stinson, associate general manager in charge of Operations for CU.  A brief biography of each finalist is available at www.cityutilities.net.

The board has scheduled final interviews for next week.  The public and CU employees will have the opportunity to meet the candidates next week; those meetings haven't been scheduled.

The Board has a target date of early May to announce the replacement for General Manager John Twitty.  Twitty announced in December that he would retire from CU in June.
