SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The National Weather Service confirms an EF-0 tornado, the weakest variety, touched down three miles north of Rogersville late Sunday night. It tracked to the northeast around 11 p.m. before lifting off the ground five miles northwest of Fordland.
Damage in Webster County was primarily to trees and out- buildings. Before it got to Rogersville and before it spawned a tornado, that same storm did some damage outside Bois D'Arc, west of Springfield. Strong wind ripped apart some farm buildings.
In the Rolla area, winds toppled two dozen telephone poles along Highway O and there were reports roof damage to an apartment in the 1900 block of Forum Road.
The National Weather Service reports trees knocked down in the Fordland area in Webster County and also near Devil's Elbow in Pulaski County.
